About Alliance 2020
Alliance 2020 is a background screening firm based in Renton, WA that offers services to employers, property managers, private landlords, mortgage brokers, and loan officers. Since its founding in 1987 by Kathy Faulkes (who continues to serve as the company's president), Alliance 2020 has significantly expanded and improved its services, and proven that it puts customers first.
Company History
Since 1987, Alliance 2020 has been providing exceptional service to clients all over the United States. Firms that benefit from our customer-first philosophy include mortgage brokers, loan officers, employers, private landlords and property managers.
Our business began as a tenant screening service and branched into mortgage credit reporting and employment screening. Kathy Faulkes, the owner and founder of Alliance 2020 determined from the very beginning to be a leader in bringing quality service and value to every client.
Our history is one of expansion to meet market conditions and client needs, a tradition that continues today. After a humble beginning in a converted garage office in 1987, the firm's success required moving from a home-based business to a small office in Renton, Washington in 1994. Since that time, the firm's growth has resulted in expanding into four adjacent offices, and eventually moving into its current home in downtown Renton, Washington.
- In 1995 employment screening was added, and Employee Facts was established, making the firm one of the pioneers in this growing industry.
- In 1998, again responding to market needs, the Mortgage Credit Reporting Division was added to the company.
- In 1999 Alliance completely automated its reporting system using secure transmission technology and Internet-driven resources. Since that time, customers have been able to submit and receive reports online.
- In 2003 Alliance, along with a number of other firms, established the non-profit National Association of Professional Background Screeners to assist in establishing standards for the fledgling industry. Currently firm staff members serve on the NAPBS Best Practices Committee, and are instrumental in ensuring that the rights of consumers and employers are respected.
- In 2006 the firm was re branded from Alliance Credit Services, with a separate Employee Facts division, to Alliance Credit Services & Employee Facts to reflect the dual offerings of screening and credit services. Also in 2006 the firm moved to its current location on the corner of Third Street and Main in downtown Renton.
- Alliance 2020 added professional fingerprinting and notary services in 2006 on a no-appointment needed basis (walk-in anytime between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.) Our fingerprinting capabilities include inkless, live scan fingerprinting using Cross-Match ID 500 scanners, as well as traditional ink fingerprinting. All of our fingerprinting technicians are trained to FBI standards by the Washington State Patrol.
- In 2007 Alliance added drug screening collections to it services, providing urine collections and breath alcohol testing (BAT) to its in-house services.
- At the end of 2007, Alliance celebrated its 20th anniversary and changed its name to Alliance 2020 to better reflect the wide range of services it provides.
- In 2008 Alliance 2020 expanded its fingerprinting capabilities to include live-scan services for the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). We offer a choice of over 50 appointment slots per day, Monday through Friday. Walk-in service is also available.
- In 2008 Alliance expanded its proprietary Child ID services to include mobile, call-out services to support client events.
- Today, Alliance 2020 provides service to over 3500 customers throughout the United States who have come to expect, "Always best value."
